Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley’s redesign provides a strategic challenge with well-placed bunkers and water hazards guarding the greens. Most fairways are receptive, forgiving errant tee shots to some extent. The course offers a good mix of par-3s, -4s, and -5s, with some memorable holes like:

• Hole 2: A demanding par-4 with water hazards and bunkers guarding the green.
• Hole 4: A reachable par-5 for long hitters, with a multi-tiered green for added challenge.
• Hole 13 (back nine): A risk-reward par-5 with a blind tee shot and a water hazard protecting the green.
• Hole 14 (back nine): An exciting par-3 with a long carry over water.
• Hole 18: A deceptive par-5 with a hidden pond guarding the green.

While there’s no driving range, the flattish course is walkable and the caddies are experienced.

The top-class clubhouse features a well-regarded restaurant serving Western food and a pro shop with a good selection of apparel.

Muang Kaew Golf provides a convenient and enjoyable golfing experience for players of all skill levels. The well-maintained course, strategic layout, and excellent location make it a solid choice for golfers visiting Bangkok, although the repetitive nature of some holes and the highway bisecting holes 12 and 13 might be a minor distraction for some golfers should be considered.
